Mason Hagemann is stepping into his role as 2026–27 Student Bar Association president with a clear mission: get more students involved and give back to the community.
Below, get to know more about Mason, his law school experience and his goals for the academic year:
What first inspired you to pursue a law degree?
For years I have been fascinated by what the law means, and how vitally it has interacted with history. Specifically, I knew I wanted to attend law school after pursuing my undergraduate degree in business law, and I have been chasing that goal ever since.
What do you think everyone should experience as an Arizona Law student?
I highly recommend Basic Trial Advocacy if you’re interested in litigation. It’s extremely helpful, and you get constructive feedback in a positive environment.
What do you think everyone should experience living in Tucson?
The amazing food culture, where Tucson is recognized as a City of Gastronomy.
Favorite restaurant in Tucson? What do you order?
Momo’s, and the go-to order is the al pastor tacos with a margarita.
Favorite hangout spot on campus?
The North Rec basketball courts.
Why should students get involved with SBA (or any other student organizations)?
I think every student should join a club. It is an amazing way to connect with other students, build a Tucson community and have a good time! My favorite SBA event is usually Barristers’ Ball, or otherwise known as Law Prom.
What are your goals and priorities for the upcoming school year?
The top priorities this year are: (1) graduating; (2) passing the bar; and (3) winning an intramural championship.
