IRA
Charitable Transfers for
2014
For all of our donors 70 ½ and older, you may be
able to take advantage of a recent change in legislation
and make a charitable gift directly from your IRA before
December 31, 2014. Last evening, the Senate passed the
Tax Extenders Bill 76-16. The President is expected to
sign the bill into law. See this Washington Post article for more
information.
The window of opportunity to take
advantage of this change is very short; the extension
will be retroactive to January 1, 2014, but it
will expire on December 31, 2014.
The
transfer can count as part of the required minimum
withdrawal that most IRA owners 70 ½ and older must take
annually.
If you are interested in making a gift
from your IRA, please contact Jonelle Vold or
520-621-8430.
