Friends,

We are thinking about you.

Like each of you, we face the challenge of adapting to extraordinary personal, professional, and community needs.

Let me tell you what is happening here at Arizona Law.

Operationally, our most immediate challenge, consistent with the overriding goal of personal and community safety, is to move all academic activity online, including courses, clinics, office hours, and support services.

We are training faculty and administrators (including professors of practice) in using online technology to conduct all classes. Effective today, we are delivering all academic components of our program online.

As for events, for the safety of all we have moved online, postponed, or canceled all college events for the foreseeable future.

All University of Arizona (UA) messages on the coronavirus are posted on the university's central coronavirus web page. Additional information specific to the College of Law is on the college's COVID-19 web page

Each of these two web pages is continuously updated as circumstances change and new information and policies are announced. The two pages are also directly linked from the UA homepage and the College of Law homepage for ease of access.

We remain especially attentive to the personal well-being of everyone in the college community.

We have scheduled dozens of virtual small group student meetings, and faculty are taking special care to reach out.

Students have access to our technology for virtual club meetings and lunchtime lectures.

Before we even asked, our editors-in-chief made contingency plans for remotely producing our law journals.

Students are checking on each other and identifying classmates in need of support.

They are creating virtual volunteering efforts. They are asking, "What can we do to make this better?"

I am deeply touched, though not the least bit surprised, at their response.

We teach the critical skills needed to sustain people and their communities in times of pervasive change. In more normal times the rate of change is fast -- but not minutes, hours, and days, as it is now.

As I see each member of our community face the world with determination, grace, and selfless leadership, I am confident that we will carry forward. Together.

Please stay in touch, and stay safe. We will do the same.

Marc
